Learning and Participation

Yaram's learning and participation programme is designed to inspire and engage people of all ages and cultures. We consult with partners, experts and artists to deliver educational and memorable experiences for participants and audiences through heritage lectures, masquerade workshops and other outreach performances.

Yaram operate in schools, community centres, hospitals, higher learning institutes and other spaces. Children and young people in particular are always fascinated by our masquerades ('Zimba', 'Huntin' and 'Kankurang'), as it seem to captivate their young creative and imaginative minds.

In support of Black Lives Matter and diversity and inclusion in young people and early-years music education, we have commissioned traditional lullabies which we aimed to develop as a learning resource in the curriculum.

Yaram work with artists to develop high quality content and of performances, present them to new audiences, and generally foster cultural awareness and social cohesion through music and arts.
